Why these passwords are secure

The characters come from crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographic random generator — not from predictable patterns. For most accounts, 16 characters or more with mixed character types is a good choice, and a separate one for every service. Everything is generated locally, so nothing leaves your device.

Generate a password and move it somewhere safe

Before you generate a password, take a moment to think about what the service actually requires. Pick the length you want and decide which character types to include — uppercase and lowercase letters, digits and symbols. The strength meter gives you quick feedback on how robust your choice is.

• For important accounts, set a generous length and enable as many character types as possible.
• Copy the password straight into your password manager instead of trying to memorize it.
• Create a fresh, unique password for every service and never reuse one.

Once a password is generated, don't park it in chats or on sticky notes. Move it promptly to its final home so it stays genuinely secure and doesn't end up somewhere by accident.

When a longer password really counts

Not every account deserves the same effort, but for sensitive logins every extra character pays off. A longer password increases the number of possible combinations enormously and makes automated guessing practically hopeless. For your email inbox or bank account, set the length far more generously than for a casual forum.

The character types work together with the length here. Enable symbols and digits and you widen the character pool, making every securely generated password even harder to attack. Because everything is generated locally in your browser, no value leaves your device or lands on someone else's server.
